Much has been made of the increasing use of technology in the classroom, and rightfully so. But there's one corner of the educational world that technology has yet to fully conquer: kindergarten. Even in this day and age, many kindergarten classrooms are still largely paper-based, with worksheets being a key component of instruction. While worksheets can certainly have their place in a kindergartener's education, they should probably only be used sparingly and only when they truly contribute to student learning. In this blog post, we're offering a free math worksheet for kindergartners as well as offer some alternatives to worksheets for teaching kindergarten students essential skills they need to succeed in school.
When introducing STEM Education to the youngest child, teachers should consider using a variety of instructional strategies to engage all learners in the classroom.
1. Math Worksheets for Kindergartners
The first and possibly most beneficial can be the kindergarten worksheet. Our free kindergarten worksheet (below) offers distinct exercises that give students practice with their numbers, their fine motor skills, and their creativity and gives teachers a chance to discuss/introduce robotics and the way robots are integrated into today's society. The kids love STEMY the ROBOT and will love doing these STEMY worksheets! We've created this worksheet for kindergarten free that you can download, reprint and share with your colleagues across the internet! (Share a link to this sheet on your schools' website so parents can access it too!)

2. Games
Games are a great way to get kindergarteners engaged and excited about learning. There are a variety of educational games available online and in stores that can be used to teach a variety of skills, from early literacy to math.
3. Manipulatives:
Manipulatives are physical objects that can be used to help kindergarten students learn concepts. Common manipulatives include things like blocks, counting beads, and pattern tiles. Manipulatives can be used in a variety of ways to support student learning.
4. Technology:
Technology can be a great resource for kindergartners. STEM education at the kindergarten level can be a daunting task for even the most seasoned teacher, but as we introduce more and more technology into the classroom through the use of whiteboards or even the youngest students having their own chrome books, there are many ways to introduce STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) to youngsters hungry to learn! There are countless educational apps and websites that can be used to support young students being introduced to science, technology, engineering, and math and they are as close as a Google search!
